New and Used AUTOCAR Trailers For Sale

Autocar Company claims to be the oldest truck builder in the western hemisphere. They’ve been producing trucks since 1897 when they were founded in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Today, Autocar Trucks is headquartered in Hagerstown, Indiana where they specialize in manufacturing severe-duty, Class 7, and Class 8 vocational trucks. They also have a manufacturing facility in Birmingham, Alabama and employ approximately 400 workers in total. The company stopped making cars in 1911 and has been focusing on the manufacture of heavy-duty trucks ever since.

Autocar was founded by Louis Semple Clarke, a mechanical engineer who invented the spark plug, the automobile drive shaft, and the oil circulation system. His spark plug thread system became the standard within the U.S. auto industry, and his company’s vehicles introduced placing the driver on the left-hand side of the vehicle. It’s no wonder Autocar trucks are a favorite among numerous industries.

The company produces a wide line of vocational Autocar trucks, including cabover trucks, aircraft and military support trucks, road maintenance trucks, concrete pump trucks, terminal tractors, and refuse trucks. Their DC conventional truck was relaunched in May of 2019. This model had been a popular Autocar product from the 1950s through the 1970s. You’re sure to find an Autocar truck that fits your business’s needs.
