A winch truck is a style of Roll Off Truck that uses a winch to get the dumpster on/off the back of the truck. A winch truck can also double as a flat bed when hauling certain materials or equipment, though you may need to outfit the truck to ensure that the load is properly secured prior to hauling.
While a hook-lift style roll off truck can be a little more “user friendly” in that the driver can pick up without leaving the cab, a winch truck is a little more versatile in where it can be positioned to deliver and retrieve the dumpster. Low-clearance areas that were off-limits in a hook lift can be accessed. A winch truck also works better in situations where you need to access a loading dock.
